Ronald B. Baran, DDS, MBA, MA
Dr. Ronald Baran has dedicated more than 50 years to dentistry and practice transitions. A graduate of Loyola University School of Dentistry, he went on to earn an MBA from Keller Graduate School of Management and an MA in Counseling from Roosevelt University, where he graduated summa cum laude.
Beyond clinical work, he owned and operated six successful dental practices in the Chicago area. His consulting firm, MYCROFT Consulting, Inc., supported dentists with practice management, valuations, executive coaching, and site analysis. Over the years he has helped dozens of practice owners assess their business value, prepare for transition, and secure outcomes that honor both their financial goals and their professional identity
Dr. Baran’s career reflects a rare combination of clinical expertise, business acumen, and psychological insight. His research on personality, burnout, and satisfaction in dentists was published in General Dentistry (2005), and he remains an active member of multiple professional associations including the American Dental Association and the American Psychological Association.

With over 35 years of experience in dental practice transitions, Dr. Ronald Prokes is recognized nationally as a pioneer in the field. A graduate of Western Illinois University and the University of Michigan School of Dentistry, he went on to become the original Illinois licensee for AFTCO Associates Ltd. and later served as National Director of Practice Transitions for Hufford Financial Advisors .
As the founder of Legacy Practice Transitions in Indianapolis, Dr. Prokes has overseen more than 1,000 successful practice transitions across multiple states. He is a member of both the National Association of Practice Brokers and the Practice Valuation Study Group, and he has lectured extensively to the U.S. Navy, U.S. Air Force, and numerous dental societies.
A retired dentist, he brings credibility at the clinical level and a vast network of qualified buyers—solo practitioners, group practices, and DSOs. His approach to deals is discreet, disciplined, and always centered on protecting the seller’s Legacy. His published work appears in the AGD, American College of Dentists publications, and state dental journals.
